Chrome Web Store release
Follow-up to 1.1.0: a guided troubleshooter for video sites, display controls in footer mode, seamless tab switching, a faster start and much lower memory use, plus a round of fixes.
Source: Chrome Web Storenew
- Fix the ticker on this site. A new guided troubleshooter in the popup starts from what you’re seeing (the ticker is in the wrong place, covers the player’s controls, hides the video, or doesn’t appear) and walks you to the fix. Point SnapLine at the video player or its control bar right on the page, jump straight to the slider that solves the problem, or carry anything unresolved into a prefilled bug report. - Confirm placement, or report it in one click. After you choose a player or control bar, an on-page check asks whether the ticker looks right. Choose Looks right, Try again, or Report a problem, which opens a report already filled in for that site. Read the guide →
- Display controls in footer mode. When SnapLine runs along the bottom of a page, hovering it now shows the same controls row as over a video: playback buttons plus a settings button for placement, ticker height, text size and opacity. Read the guide →
- Text size right on the ticker. Both the video and footer display panels now include Text size, so you can make the ticker easier to read without opening Settings. Read the guide →
- A branded loading state. While the ticker starts up you now see the SnapLine logo with a subtle loading sweep instead of an empty black strip. It stays still if your system asks for reduced motion.
- A home for included sources. Providers and Leagues now separate your fantasy accounts from the sources that come with SnapLine: the NFL Scoreboard and RotoWire player updates. Neither needs an account. Read the guide →
- RotoWire overview. Opening RotoWire now shows what it adds to the ticker, its feed status and latest headlines, how long updates stay (six hours), and a single Show in ticker switch, instead of league settings that never applied to a news feed. Read the guide →
- Optional feedback after uninstall. If you remove SnapLine, Chrome opens a short Google Forms survey. It’s optional, needs no sign-in or email, and SnapLine sends no league, account or browsing data with it. Read the guide →
improved
- Seamless tab switching. Come back to a tab and the ticker is already on the current matchup with up-to-date scores. No more catching up, jumping between games, or scores counting up again for changes you already saw on another tab.
- Faster start-up. The ticker draws your last scores, settings and playback position immediately, then refreshes in the background, instead of waiting on providers before showing anything.
- Much lighter on memory. Player photos and team logos are now stored at the size the ticker actually draws them, and each tab keeps a bounded set of images. With several tabs open, SnapLine uses a fraction of the memory it did in 1.1.0.
- Easier on background tabs. Tickers in tabs you’re not looking at stop animating and refreshing, while quietly keeping track of new scores so they’re ready the moment you return.
- Controls that look right on every site. The controls row, display panel, minimize handle and site menu keep SnapLine’s own size, spacing and type even on pages whose styles used to enlarge, round or shift them.
- One ticker height setting. Ticker height now ranges from 50% to 150% everywhere you can set it, and it sizes the footer ticker as well as the video overlay.
- Full names for NFL leaders. NFL game leaders show the player’s full name instead of an abbreviated one.
- Tighter protections. Only SnapLine’s own pages can connect providers or manage your data; webpages can’t ask it to. Player and team images are fetched only from the supported providers’ own image servers.
fixed
- The ticker lands on the video, not the page. When a player sits beside other content, such as a chat or playlist panel, SnapLine now places the ticker over the player itself instead of a page-sized wrapper. Read the guide →
- Footer controls appear when you hover. Hovering a footer ticker reliably shows its controls row and hides it again when you move away; it could previously get stuck hidden or visible.
- Full kickoff times beside Game News. Upcoming NFL kickoff times keep enough room beside Game News, including with larger ticker text, instead of being cut off.
- NFL pregame briefs stay put. Upcoming NFL games keep their injury, weather and prediction details even when ESPN has not yet published a headline or box score.
- No more console warnings on busy web apps. On pages that constantly re-render, such as Google Forms, SnapLine no longer floods the page console and the extension’s error list with “postMessage” warnings.
- Quiet after an update. When SnapLine updates or reloads while a page is open, the old copy on that page now retires silently instead of logging “Extension context invalidated” errors.
Also included
- Under the hood. Broader automated testing, including real-browser checks of placement, playback and memory use, plus daily checks that catch changes in ESPN, Sleeper and RotoWire data before they reach the ticker. Support requests now go to support@snaplinefantasy.com, and the support service runs with tighter permissions.
